but so the story goes is that he was an Earl, maybe in Wales instead of
England, I but anyway he supposedly didn't want to be connected with Royalty any longer

Note: Stories abound in this family about the origins of Charles C. Coop.
I wonder if before he became a "preacher" if he wasn't a bit of a story teller.
We may never know. However, on more than one census record Charles Coop
indicated he was born in PA. After research, I have found a Charles Coop,
born in Lycoming County, PA at about the right time. Therefore, I take a
chance today and post what I think might be Charles's birthplace and date.
